Filmon's First Homerun Key to a Majors Victory

After the Majors game last Sunday in Toronto vs the Maple Leafs was rained out, both teams were back at it on Friday night at Labatt Park. Both teams were looking to continue their hot start as the Majors came into the game in first place and the Maple Leafs in third.

Lefty Robert Doyle was on the mound to get his second appearance of the season after a successful outing last Friday vs the Jackfish. Doyle would go 3 innings giving up 1 earned run while striking out 5 before turning it over to Braeden Ferrington. The London native would go 4 innings for the bulk of the game coming one strikeout shy of matching Doyle, Braeden’s final line finished 4 innings, 4Ks with 1 earned run. Between Mike DeLong and Jaryd Lund they would finish off the final 2 innings with Lund picking up his second career save in the IBL

The highlight of the night for the Majors was a 1st career, 2 run home run by Winnipeg, Manitoba native Adam Filmon in the bottom of the second inning. The Majors would score 2 more runs on a single by Chris McQueen in the bottom of the 6th inning where he would score Keith Kandel and Cleveland Brownlee giving the Majors a 5-2 lead.

The Majors are back at it again tomorrow night vs the Brantford Red Sox, this game can be seen on Rogers TV as well for the IBL Game of the Week. Tickets for Saturday night's game can still be purchased online at www.londonmajors.com
