Ferrington Returns to the Majors

London, Ontario - The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of right-handed pitcher Braeden Ferrington.

The London native returns for his 7th season in pinstripes. Over those 7 seasons (including playoffs), he has accumulated over 106 innings pitched, most of which are out of the bullpen and only 8 strikeouts off the century mark. The 28-year-old is also the 7th member of the Majors 2016 pennant-winning team to return for this season (Artega, Boon, Brownlee, Kandel, McQueen, Reichstein).

When asked about what returning to the Majors after a COVID-19 lost season in 2020 means to him, “In this pandemic, everything in this world was flipped upside down, to be able to bring a sense of normalcy to the city of London and playing in front of the great Majors supporters at the oldest baseball grounds in the world, it’s a pleasure to be able to play baseball again. Roop has a passion to win and that’s all any athlete wants. The group that Roop has assembled has seen the highs and lows of what this game has to offer. The understanding of the group now has to be “Never take anything for granted”, which can also be applied to all aspects of life. Looking forward to competing again in the pinstripes.”

Co-Owner, Manager and General Manager Roop Chanderdat was impressed with another veteran returning to the Majors pitching staff this season “Ferrington is one of the core group of players returning this season and it’s good to have him back with our team.  Braeden is an experienced pitcher that knows the IBL well and he will help bolster our bullpen.  He is a guy that works hard on his craft to stay ready.”

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
