Roop Chanderdat, General Manager, has announced that Ryan McGorman a right handed pitcher (RHP) has signed with the Majors.  Ryan is 21 years old, 6'2" and 195 lbs.

McGorman is currently attending Canisius College in Buffalo NY (Division 1).

At Canisius in 2008: Tied the school record for saves in a season with five… Has either earned a save or been a part of the decision in 11 of his 13 appearances… Has pitched at least two innings in seven of his 13 appearances… Has recorded at least two strikeouts in eight of his 13 appearances… Has matched his career high in victories with four… Allowed zero runs in eight of his appearances… Matched career high with five strikeouts in his first appearance of the season (Feb. 23).

At Canisius in 2007: Went 4-3 on the mound after making 17 appearances and seven starts… One of two Griff pitchers to record winning records… Threw 59 innings, the third-most on the team, and struck out 29… Pitched six shutout innings and allowed two hits in a 7-0 win over St. Bonaventure in the Big 4 Classic title game… Posted a 1.51 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 29.2 innings in his last five starts… Posted a 3-0 record during the stretch.

Before Canisius: Selected to Team Canada Junior National Team training roster in 2004… Won Bronze Medal with the Manitoba Youth at the 2004 Canada Cup… Member of AA Neepawa Midgets that won the 2003 Western Canadian Championship… Won three straight Manitoba Provincial Championships with AA Neepawa Midgets from 2002-04… Named 2002 Manitoba Bantam Player of the Year
