Matt McCarney was drafted in the 23rd round of the MLB draft by Tampa Bay D-Rays.  McCarney is 18 years, 6'3", 195 lbs., throws right, bats right and plays the outfield.

Matt played for Team Ontario in the Canada Cup in Medicine Hat in 2005 and won the gold medal.  He was also selected to play for Team Canada National Junior team the same year.  McCarney won the A.C.T Award for Baseball player of the year in 2005.

His club team for the past 5 years has been the Ottawa Nepean Canadians .

Matt is currently at PBA in Lethbridge.  We are very excited to have Matt in our program and look forward to seeing him develop over the summer.
