Roop Chanderdat, General Manager, has announced that Jeff Newnes, a 20 year old RHP from London has joined the Majors Program.  Jeff is 6'5" and 215 lbs.  Newnes is a graduate of the London Badger Program.  In 2003 Jeff was on the Midget Badgers who placed first in the Ontario Eliminations and placed third at in Canada.

Newnes is attending the University of Western Ontario (UWO) and is a member of the UWO baseball team.  Jeff received the finals MVP as a pitcher for the UWO team which won its third OUA title.  Jeff had a 1.59 ERA in 13.2 innings pitched.

Chanderdat describes Newnes as very athletic with lots of potential to develop into a strong pitcher.  "Jeff will add depth and strengthen our bullpen" say Chanderdat.
