Right handed pitcher Geoff Mann from London has signed to play with the Majors for the 2009 season. Mann is 6'6" and 210 lbs. As a rookie last year with the Majors Mann went 2-1 with a 3.90 ERA and had 27 strikeouts in 30 innings. Geoff started 5 games in 2008 and also pitched 3 games out of the bullpen.
Prior to joining the Majors, Mann helped the Lambeth Midgets win the first OBA championship for Lambeth minor baseball, while being named tournament MVP. He then spent the 2007 season with the Southwest London Jr’s of the LDBA where he earned a scholarship to Illinois Valley Community College.
As a freshman in 2008, Mann led the Illinois Valley Eagles to within one game of the Regional Championship. In the fall of 2008, Mann attended Howard College in Texas.
