The London Majors have signed 21 year old Denten Neill from Wakefield Quebec. Denten is 6"1, 190 lbs. and bats and throws right. Neill is primarily and infielder that can play shortstop, 2nd and 3rd base.
Denten played minor ball in Ottawa for the Ottawa White Sox and Nepean Canadians.
Denten is in his Junior Year at New York Institute of Technology (NYiT). In his Rookie Season Denten batted 0.261 in 44 games. He was Named Student athlete of the year for 2006, and made the athletic honour roll every semester. In 2007 (sophomore season) at NYiT Denten batted 0.285 with 3 triples, 2 home runs and 12 stolen bases in 52 games. In 2007 he made the Division 1 Independent all academic team.
Last summer Denten played in the Western Major Baseball League for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. Neill played centerfield and batted leadoff for the Mavericks.
Denten's speed and versatility will be a big asset to our club this summer. We are pleased to have Denten as part of the Majors family.
