Twenty-two year old outfielder, Christian Ruiz, from Puerto Rico has signed to play with the Majors for the 2008 season.  Christian was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and is currently in his Senior Year at Oklahoma Baptist University.  Ruiz was voted one of the top 100 players in Puerto Rico. 

Christian played two years of Junior College at Panola College in Texas.  In his second season at Panola he was voted Top Conference Player and hit 0.333, with 8 homeruns, and 36 rbi. 

Last year at Oklahoma Baptist University Ruiz hit 0.301 with 7 home runs, 6 triples, and 29 rbi.
Roop Chanderdat is expecting Christian to be one of the starting outfielders.  Ruiz is a big addition to our roster.
