London Majors 10 Stratford Nationals 3

In London, David Nardowski drove in five runs as the host Majors routed the Stratford Nationals 10-3.  London wrapped out 15 hits in the game, including four each by Nardowski and Christian Ruiz. Nardowski drove in three of his runs with a triple and Ruiz added a two-run homer and three singles.       The Majors scored four runs in the first inning and three more in the second to take an early 7-1 lead and cruised to the win from there. Geoff Mann pitched seven strong innings for the win, allowing two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. Stratford starter Shawn Gillespie was the loser, allowing seven runs on five hits over 1 2/3 innings. Victor Alderman hit a pair of solo homers for the Nationals, who slipped to 2-10.

London Majors 9 Brantford Red Sox 2

In Brantford, the London Majors scored four runs in the third inning and four more in the fifth to cruise to a 9-2 win over the Brantford Red Sox. Josh Palmer pitched a complete game four-hitter for the Majors, who improved to 6-4 with the victory. Palmer struck out seven and walked four.               Christian Ruiz had a single, a double and a triple for the Majors, while Dave Narodowski also had three hits, including a triple, to help key London’s 11-hit attack on five Brantford pitchers. Kyle Piwowarczyk had two hits and walked three times, while Jess Bechard added a pair of singles.               Red Sox starter Stefan Strecker went three innings and was the loser, allowing four runs – two earned – on six hits with two strikeouts and no walks. Adam Parliament had a single and a double for Brantford (7-3), while Josh McCurdy hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.

London Majors 3 Kitchener Panthers 1

In London, Geoff Mann and two relievers combined on a two-hitter as the Majors got by the Kitchener Panthers 3-1.     Mann allowed one unearned run on two hits over five innings to pick up the win, striking out five and walking three. Pierre Deschenes added three hitless innings with two strikeouts and Ryan McGorman pitched a perfect ninth with a strikeout to help London improve to 7-4. Jess Bechard drove in a pair of first inning runs with a double to give the Majors the lead for good, while Kyle Piwowarczyk had three of London’s six hits. Kitchener starter Carlos Birriel allowed three runs on six hits over 6 1/3 innings, striking out five and walking one, to take the loss for the 3-11 Panthers. Mike Roeder and Matt Taube had the lone Kitchener hits in the game.

London Majors 4 Brantford Red Sox 1

In London, Adam Echlin pitched seven shutout innings, leading the London Majors to a 4-1 win over the Brantford Red Sox in one of four games scheduled in the Intercounty Baseball League Sunday.  Echlin scattered seven hits, striking out four and walking none, and the Majors supported him with an 11-hit attack to improve to 8-4 on the season. Ryan McGorman allowed one run on two hits in 1 1/3 innings before Mike Mitro got the last two outs for the save.               Kevin Virtue had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Majors, who scored twice in the seventh inning to give themselves a bit of a cushion. Cristian Ruiz had three hits for the Majors, including a double. Brad Hogeterp was the loser for the Red Sox, allowing three runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked one and wasn’t helped by four Brantford errors. Adam Parliament and Dave Parsons both had two hits for the Red Sox (9-4), while Lee Delfino had an RBI double to account for the lone Brantford

I In Stratford, the London Majors scored 10 runs in the first inning and then cruised to a 17-10 win over the host Nationals.        

Christian Ruiz had 5 hits, Jess Bechard 4 hits and Kyle Piowarczyk had 3 hits and 4 walks to pace the 21-hit attack for the Majors .

London stayed tied for second place with the convincing win, while keeping Stratford (2-14) in last place.               Winning pitcher Medhi Diebba (1-0) had plenty of offensive support to get the win. He lasted 5 2/3 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.             Loser Mike McGillary lasted just 1/3 inning, charged with nine runs in the first inning on seven hits with four walks. Winter Fuentes drove in three runs for the Nationals, who also committed three errors

Jess Bechard had four hits, including a two-run homer in the sixth inning, to lead London Majors to an 8-7 win over the Thunderbirds.The Majors pounded out 13 hits in the win, as David Narodowski also homered, a solo shot in the eighth, and had three hits, a double and a single along with his home run. Kevin Virtue and Mason Reilly both added three hits for London (10-4). Pierre Miville-Deschenes picked up the win in relief, tossing four innings. He allowed one run, it was unearned, on four hits with two strikeouts in relief of starter Geoff Mann, who went five innings and allowed six runs.     Zac Staniewicz started for the Thunderbirds and allowed five runs – three earned – over 7 2/3 innings, but it was reliever Rob Foscaein who took the loss, charged with three runs – one earned – in 2/3 innings.Staniewicz had three hits at the plate for Hamilton, including a double, while Richard Rausch added two hits. Jesse Robertson hit a two-run homer in the fourth and Henry Duke blasted a three-run shot in the fifth for Hamilton.

London Majors 6 Barrie Baycats 7 - Game 1

Baycats winning streak ends at 15 games           
The Barrie Baycats winning streak has finally come to an end.
Toshi Sasha homered in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the London Majors a 4-3 win over the Baycats in the second game of their doubleheader Sunday at Labatt Park in London, salvaging a split of their doubleheaderand ending Barrie’s winning streak at 15 games.            

Barrie stretched the streak to 15 with a 7-6 win in eight innings the opener, but the Majors ended the second longest winning streak in league history with the Game 2 dramatics, staying 3 ½ games behind the first place Baycats as a result. Christian Ruiz also homered for the Majors and David Narodowski drove in a pair of runs as London survived making three errors while making the most of their seven hits. Jeff Palmer pitched a complete game eight-hitter for the win, allowing three runs – two earned – with five strikeouts and no walks.Jake Hines was the loser in his complete game effort, allowing four runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Dave Latour had a pair of hits and Glen Jackson and Randy Schwartz both had a hit and an RBI for Barrie in the nightcap.              
In Game 1, the Baycats rallied from a 4-0 deficit after two innings to win on Ryan Spataro’s RBI single in the top of the eighth inning.
Brad Bissell went 2 2/3 shutout innings of relief for the win and Kyle Payne pitched the eighth for the save. Jackson and Schwartz both homered for Barrie and Spataro had two hits and an RBI.Vince Burke had three hits for London in the opener. Reliever Ryan McGorman took the loss, charged with three runs on three hits over 1 1/3 innings.
