London’s DeLong is Lick’s Homeburgers Hero of the Week 

            The winner of the Lick’s Homeburger Hero of the Week for the week ending June 21 is Mike DeLong of the London Majors. He receives a gift pack courtesy of Lick’s Homeburgers in recognition of a player who wins a game in dramatic fashion, presented by Lick’s Homeburgers.

            DeLong was the hero when he struck out 13 Mississauga Twins batters on Tuesday, June 16 to become the fourth winner of the new Lick’s Award this season and the second Major.

            He was the winning pitcher in a 7-3 London win, going six innings and striking out 13 of the 26 batters he faced. DeLong gave up only five hits and only walked two batters before departing after six innings of work.

The Rawlings Player of the Week will be announced Thursday.
